Review by hotel critic
I recently had the chance to stay at Cathcart Place Rooms during a city break in Edinburgh, and it was quite a mixed experience. The self check-in process was super easy, which worked perfectly for our tight schedule since we had an early flight. The location in Haymarket was fantastic too, with local pubs and cafes just a stroll away, allowing me to explore the vibe of the city between my dive expeditions. The room itself was a generous size, complete with a mini-fridge and electric kettle—essential for my tea obsession! I appreciated the ample storage space to keep my gear organized. I must mention the condition of the shared bathroom; it left a lot to be desired and was disappointing compared to the lovely room itself. In summary, while Cathcart Place Rooms has great potential with its amenities and location, they really need to focus on cleanliness and maintenance to match the charm of Edinburgh. I left inspired to promote eco-conscious habits, even when seeking temporary home bases like this. If the cleanliness improves, I could see myself returning, perhaps with my fellow marine biology friends to share the joy of exploration!
